Breanna Stewart keeps on winning!
WNBA superstar and Seattle Storm power forward Breanna Stewart is celebrating once again after she dropped down on one knee and proposed to her girlfriend, fellow pro-basketball player, Marta Xargay. And yes, Xargay said 'yes!'
Stewart, 26, posted about the good news on social media in a post that shows her on one knee proposing to her point guard girlfriend. "Did a thing. Another ring. She said YES," Stewart wrote.
Xargay also shared her excitement in an Instagram post where she wrote, "Life isn't just about the moments, it's about who we share them with! I said YES." Both women added the hashtag #wifey.Stewart's team, the Storm, also got in on the celebration, tweeting out "ring season continues" in reference to Stewart adding an engagement ring to her championship ring collection.

In 2016, she was selected first in the WNBA draft and went on to win Rookie of the Year. In 2018, she won her first MVP award and led the Seattle Storm to a WNBA championship. This last year, she once again took the Storm to the promised land, winning another championship, and getting a second WNBA Finals MVP award for herself.
Xargay is a Spanish pro player who has played in Europe, as well as for the Phoenix Mercury in the WNBA. She won a silver medal with Spain in the 2016 Olympics. She's on the Mercury's preseason roster this year and is working on earning her spot on the regular season team.
During last year's WNBA season, Xargay and Stewart were one of the hottest couples inside the quarantine "wubble" the league had formed. Xargay cheered Stewart on as she won the WNBA championship and kissed her on the court as the Storm celebrated their victory.
The newly-engaged couple will play each other in a preseason game this weekend, as the Mercury host the Storm on Saturday.
Last year, another WNBA icon, Sue Bird, got engaged to Megan Rapinoe, one of the greatest soccer players the US has ever seen. Bird was a teammate of Stewart's on the Storm and became the first personto win four WNBA championships in four decades.
