Out musician Mary Lambert has found someone to keep her warm, as she is now officially engaged!
The "She Keeps Me Warm" and "Secrets" singer announced the happy news on her Instagram yesterday, showing off her ring, and including a video of her fiance proposing at one of the couple's recent live appearances together.
"I've dreamt of this moment my whole life," Lambert wrote on her Instagram. "We're gonna get married in front of god and everybody!!!!!! I love you, Wyatt Paige Hermansen!!!"
Lambert's new fiance, Dr. Wyatt Paige Hermansen, is a nonbinary English professor and co-host of The Manic Episodes, a podcast where Hermansen and Lambert discuss bipolar disorder (which both have), queer relationships, and body love.
They've recently been on a tour together, performing songs and talking about those issues. It was at one of these stops that Hermansen popped the question. In the video, we can see Hermansen down on one knee while Lambert exclaims "Oh my god! Oh, are you serious???" before they embrace.
Apart from her music career, Lambert recently played Bertie, a teen giantess in the animated musical Arlo the Alligator Boy alongside Jonathan Van Ness. She'll be reprising the role in I Heart Arlo, a Netflix series based on the movie.
Some of Lambert's famous friends were quick to congratulate the couple on social media, including The L Word: Generation Q's Jillian Mercado and Clarice's Jen Richards, who wrote "Omg congrats!! This brings me so much joy!" in a comment
Even Macklemore, the Seattle rapper whose song "Same Love" featured Lambert's vocals and helped launch her music career to the next level, commented on her post, putting heart and raised hand emojis. Lambert also released a solo version of her part in the song, titled "She Keeps Me Warm" back in 2013.
The couple celebrated their three-year anniversary this past May, with Lambert writing that it had been "a perfect 3 years with this dreamboat!" She also thanked Hermansen for "loving me so darn good. It's an honor to be your partner."
