The fashion collaboration of the season
Uniqlo has built an empire out of affordable, well-tailored basics that come in every color of the rainbow. But not since its sold-out collaborations with Jil Sander has the Japanese fast-retail giant offered anything considered high fashion. Enter Christophe Lemaire.
Relatively unknown in the States, the French couturier (and former creative director of Hermes) is a darling among the Left Bank fashionista, who go gaga over his chic, minimalist aesthetic. Now he and co-designer Sarah-Linh Tran have teamed with Uniqlo for a collection of 25 menswear essentials (shirts, knits, pants, jackets, outerwear), available in mix-and-match shades to create the ideal fall wardrobe. Bonus: its flattering price tags, which will be worth waiting in line for when the pieces hit stores worldwide October 1.
