Ryan Murphy’s Spooky New Series ‘The Watcher’ Has a New Lead
Jennifer Coolidge can watch me any time!
According to Deadline, comedy icon Jennifer Coolidge is joining the cast of Ryan Murphy's upcoming limited series The Watcher, which also stars Bobby Cannavale and Naomi Watts and is in the works at Netflix.
While the series hasn't formally been announced just yet, it's believed that the series follows a married couple played by Watts and Cannavale who move into their dream home when they start receiving terrifying and threatening letters from a mysterious stalker who signs letters "The Watcher."
The limited series is based on a 2018 article published by The Cut written by Reeves Wiedeman. In the piece, Wiedeman chronicalled the story of mysterious letters that started appearing in a family's mailbox in the New Jersey home they just moved into.
"657 Boulevard has been the subject of my family for decades now and as it approaches its 110th birthday, I have been put in charge of watching and waiting for its second coming. My grandfather watched the house in the 1920s and my father watched in the 1960s. It is now my time," the first letter read.
"All of the windows and doors in 657 Boulevard allow me to watch you and track you as you move through the house. Who am I? I am the Watcher and have been in control of 657 Boulevard for the better part of two decades now," another letter read.
It's not yet known who Coolidge will be playing, but she's always electric whenever she steps on screen.
Coolidge has had iconic roles in movies like Best in Show, Legally Blonde, A Cinderella Story, and the American Pie movies. She's keeping herself busy, starring in White Lotus at HBO, as well as the upcoming movies We Have a Ghost, Shotgun Wedding, and the gay-themed rom-com Single All the Way.
