At last, we'll soon know the full story behind how Abbi and Ilana, Broad City's sisterly stars, met each other on the show. On September 13, Comedy Central's smash hit returns, and with it, the "one magical origin story that mattered."
The teaser premiered over the weekend at San Diego Comic Con, and shows Jacobson and Glazer heading into the subway when Jacobson's card gets declined. Ilana then helps the then-stranger out, and ends up hopping the turnstile when her own card runs out of money. But from there, the two appear to go their own separate ways. Only once the season 4 premiere airs in a little over a month will we know what happens next.
So what else do we know about the upcoming fourth season?
"It's in the winter, which is a whole new feel for Broad City, which is typically a sweaty, stinky, dank summer show," Ilana told MTV's Josh Horowitz at a Comic-Con interview. "It's such a struggle... no matter how much money you have, it is almost impossible to live -- it is impossible to live comfortably in New York in the winter. It's not chill, even if it's really cold."
It sounds like, in typical Broad City fashion, that concept will be taken to the extreme. "We really like to mess with the drastic temperature," added Abbi. "Either way it's like, let's talk about when it's so hot and when it's so cold."
The pair also said that parts of the show were rewritten post-election, meaning we'll likely get some great political jokes to help us in our continuing resistance of the Evil Dictator in the Oval Office. Check out the teaser, below:
