The out director of the film franchise will help the two television titans to collaborate on a show about the famous comic-book series.
Fox announced that X-Men film director Bryan Singer will help with a pilot for a network TV series of the famous comic series.
While Fox has earned success from DC-based shows such as Gotham, the X-Men series would be the network's first foray into the Marvel universe.
"Developing a Marvel property has been a top priority for the network," Fox Entertainment David Madden said in a statement.
Out director Singer recently worked with the comic franchise in this year's X-Men: Apocalypse blockbuster. Marvel fans have hoped that the X-Men could move back into the Marvel cinematic universe, but Fox has persisted in maintaining rights to the characters--many of which have come out as LGBT in recent storylines.
Now working with Marvel on a TV series, perhaps Fox is one step closer to letting go of its hold on our favorite mutants.
