Ralph Lauren's new line for the 2021 Olympics, to be worn at the closing ceremony, immediately evokes the timeless image of an athlete. With sharp polos, jeans, windbreakers, and a ribbon belt in bold red-and-blue colors and fresh whites, Olympians are going to be taking home medals in style.
Haylie McCleney, an outfielder for the U.S. Olympic Softball Team and a Ralph Lauren brand ambassador, says that when you look good, you feel good, and you play even better. "Ralph Lauren kills it every single time," she says. "The collection is fresh and sporty...the looks give you confidence off the field to be your best self."
And when you are your best self, that spreads to every part of your life. McCleney says that's especially true for LGBTQ+ athletes. "To be at your peak athletically, or really whatever your job or your role is, you need to be authentically you," the lesbian player says. "Love yourself, love your truest self."
