The LGBTQ+ community has been inspiring and originating trends in beauty and grooming all around the world for generations. We see beauty, grooming, makeup and hair as ways of creatively expressing our identities. We are passionate about finding the best products in order to boost our confidence and feel our best selves. The team at Out, along with Editor-in-Chief Phillip Picardi, is excited to present two sets of collections that contain the the best beauty and grooming products - that will work regardless of how you identify - in time for Pride.
Out is proud to partner with Birchbox, a beauty and grooming retailer whose monthly subscription of personalized samples has redefined the way we discover and shop for new products. Birchbox is designed to be a beauty and grooming shortcut - it makes the most of your (limited) time and spending money. Birchbox beauty subscriptions start at just $13 per month, and Birchbox grooming subscriptions at only $10 per month. That gives you an efficient, effective and enjoyable way to test-drive and buy new products.
Out and Birchbox's mission is to empower everyone to discover beauty and grooming products that bring out the best in themselves and make them feel confident. “I’ve spent practically my whole life obsessed with testing, trying, and buying beauty products,” explains Picardi of his decision to partner with Birchbox. “The idea that I could spread the love and have a curated box arrive right on someone’s doorstep was almost too good to be true.”
The beauty and grooming boxes contain products that can be used by anyone and everyone. “My hope for the beauty industry," says Picardi, "Is that we continue to make strides towards better representation. We need more faces of all kinds, more honesty and candor, and more transparency into ingredients."
Describing what makes these products so relevant for the LGBTQ community specifically, Phillip describes, "I know it to be true that many queer and trans folks seek out beauty, makeup, and hair as ways of playing with and forming our true selves. So, there’s an added layer of power in some of our relationships to cosmetics.”
Put your best face forward with care for Pride in 2019!
