With an incredible six shows currently on the air, Berlanti has created a niche for the modern deconstruction of the superhero genre. In the past year, he's added CBS's Supergirl and the CW's Legends of Tomorrow to his lineup. For his next project, he's taking on a different kind of comic book, adapting Archie and his friends for Riverdale, a surrealistic teen soap for the CW. A central tenet of Berlanti's productions is a commitment to diversity in his casts and crews.
