In an interview with The Times, onscreen husband John Goodman revealed how the upcoming spin-off, The Conners will deal with the matriarch's sudden absence.
"It's an unknown," he said when asked about changes to his character in the spin-off. "I guess he'll be mopey and sad because his wife's dead."
Well, that's one way to appease the fans. The Conners premieres October 16 on ABC.
