In an interview with Beats Radio, Lady Gaga announced the name and release date for her new album.
Lady Gaga just gave us the name and release date of her new album in an interview with Beats Radio. The album is called Joanne, and it will be available October 21.
The name of the record is shared with Gaga's aunt Joanne, her father's sister, who died at age 19 of lupus. Gaga herself also has Joanne as one of her middle names.
Gaga also explained in the interview that the album will be finished within the next two days, and that she's collaborated with songwriter Hillary Lindsey, known for Carrie Underwood's hit "Jesus Take the Wheel." Lindsey joins a roster that includes Florence Welch, Mark Ronson, Beck, Father John Misty, and Tame Impala, all of whom have been confirmed to have a hand in the forthcoming Joanne.
Mother Monster also explained there are currently 12 songs on the album, but that number might change to 11, with 14 being available on the deluxe edition.
