Watch: Full Project Runway 'Road to the Runway' Episode

We're ready for stunning designs, sewing errors, fashion feuds, and major meltdowns in the new season of Project Runway on Lifetime, but before that can even begin, the 16 designers of Season 14 had to earn their spot. As Tim Gunn explains in 'Road to the Runway,' "What you may not realize is that journey to get here is almost as challenging as making it to New York Fashion Week."

We're loving this sneak peek, which includes Edmond Newton, who has auditioned for the show since Season 1 -- and was heartbroken when he almost made the cut last season. "I'm a fighter and not going to give up," he declares.

Project Runway Season 14 premieres Thursday, Aug. 6 at 8 p.m. on Lifetime.
