“If you want a simple explanation for what’s happening in America, watch AVATAR again.”
Like that video of Camille Grammar dancing on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills but set to the Deep Dish remix of Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams" in corporeal human form, Marianne Williamson kind of stole the show during Thursday night's presidential debate.
The second night for the Democratic primary contenders -- pitting 10 Democratic hopefuls like New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg, and Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont against one another -- touched on everything from expanding health care access to canceling student loan debt. California Sen. Kamala Harris even called out former Vice President Joe Biden's past record of legislating against integrating public schools!
But Williamson, a self-help guru slash Oprah fave who's pretty great on reparations but somewhat yikes-adjacent on vaccinating kids, might have provided Thursday night's biggest -- or at least most batshit -- moments, telling the viewers at home that she plans to defeat the president with love.
"I have an idea about Donald Trump," Williamson said in her closing remarks. "This man has reached into the psyche of the American people, and he has harnessed fear for political purposes. So, Mr. President -- if you're listening -- I want you to hear me please. You have harnessed fear for political purposes, and only love can cast that out. So, I, sir, I have a feeling you know what you're doing. I'm going to harness love for political purposes. I will meet you on that field, and, sir, only love will win."
...Sure!
In case you can't get enough of Williamson's distinctive brand of je ne sais Marianne, here are some incredible, perhaps even instantly iconic old tweets of hers.
