A veteran performer, Karla Mosley (Guiding Light, The Bold and the Beautiful) now stars as Dani Dupree on the CBS daytime drama Beyond the Gates, āthe first hourlong soap to center an African-American family with a largely Black cast,ā she notes.
Besides Beyond the Gatesā season 2 renewal, Mosley is proud of coming out as queer in 2025 ā a time when āviolence against queer and trans folks is on the rise, particularly against those in the Black community,ā she explains. āAs a mother to two young girls, it feels important to me to be open about who I am, because Iām proud of who I am.ā
Mosley took āa long time to put into wordsā that sheās bisexual due to being in āprimarily heteronormative relationships.ā
āSometimes I still question why I need to acknowledge this part of myself,ā she says. āBut when I sit with that question, I realize that it is the remnants of internalized homophobia still raging inside me.ā
āFor decades, my silent prayer has been to have the courage to show up in any room as my fullest self,ā she reflects. āI finally feel like I can.ā @karlamose
