The latest issue of Out features Billy Porter as its cover star!
During the recent party celebrating his new cover, the actor, singer, and fashion icon reflected on his long career and whatās changed over the years regarding queer Black representation in mainstream media.
Porter reflected during an interview with Out:
āIām so grateful that Iāve lived long enough to see the day where my queerness, which I was told would be my liability by allies and haters alike, and was my liability for decades, and now that queerness is my superpower.ā
He also talked about his huge comeback to music, as a brand-new album is currently in the works.
Porter explained, āMy first R&B album came out on A&M Records in 1997. The business was very homophobic and it didnāt work out so well for me. I really wasnāt interested in not being my full self. And so now, all these years later, I get to come back on my own terms. And it takes my breath away.ā
