The wait is over: 'La Bola Negra,' the highly anticipated Spanish queer war epic from Los Javis, is finally here.
Guitarricadelafuente makes a striking acting debut as a gentle young trumpeter swept into the Spanish Civil War, with Penélope Cruz playing the woman who opens his eyes to a world beyond his own. Speaking to Out, Guitarricadelafuente reflects on the film’s mission to reclaim the queer histories we’ve been taught to overlook, while sharing what drew him to acting, how his music shaped his performance, and why Cruz is “a total mother.”
Until next time.
