The 'RuPaul’s Drag Race' family is mourning the loss of one of the show’s musical talents.
Lucian Piane, the gay music producer and songwriter behind some of RuPaul’s most iconic tracks, has died at 46 after being struck by a car in Glendale, California, according to reports. Piane contributed to multiple seasons of Drag Race, helping shape the show’s musical identity through beloved challenges like “Shade: The Rusical” and “The Baddest Bitches in Herstory.” Beyond the show, he co-wrote and produced RuPaul hits including “Sissy That Walk,” “Cover Girl,” “Jealous of My Boogie,” and “Champion.” His work also extended to film and television, including a Grammy-nominated contribution to the Hairspray soundtrack.
Piane leaves behind a lasting musical legacy in drag and queer pop culture. Rest in peace, Lucian.
