For Jessica Chastain, Alien's Ripley is the Mother of all cinematic horror characters.
The Other Mommy star played a game of "Who is More Mother?" with Out in promotion of her new film, in which she portrays a dual role of loving mother and an evil doppelgänger.
While Psycho's Norma Bates and Hereditary's Annie Graham won early rounds, Alien's Ripley bested female horror icons like Laurie Strode from Halloween, M3GAN, Ma, Aunt Gladys, and even her Other Mommy character of Ursula. "Sorry Jessica Chastain," she said.
Ellen Ripley, played by Sigourney Weaver, is the resourceful survivor of alien attacks in the 1979 science-fiction horror classic and its 1986, 1992, and 1997 sequels. The character "is part of the reason I wanted to be a woman. She's like the greatest superhero ever created," Chastain said.
The Oscar winner also shared a message to her LGBTQ+ fans: "I love you guys! And my makeup artist did tell me to say that he's single, so check out Kristofer Buckle on Instagram. He's super hot, super sexy, really fabulous, and he's going to kill me for saying this!"
Slide into Buckle's DMs, and catch Other Mommy in theaters this weekend.
