Hello Out readers.
Amid news that the superhot hockey romance Heated Rivalry continues to be one of the most popular shows on television and that a new season of the groundbreaking Japanese queer dating show The Boyfriend is coming, there's also some more serious news to discuss.
Popular filmmaker Tyler Perry, known for television series like Tyler Perry's House of Payne, The Haves and the Have Nots, and The Oval, as well as his stage plays and films featuring the character Madea, is now facing a second allegation of sexual misconduct from an aspiring actor who worked with him.
An actor named Mario Rodriguez, who played "Frat Guy No. 10" in 2016's Boo! A Madea Halloween is suing Perry for alleged "sexual assault, sexual battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress."
According to the lawsuit, Perry made unwanted sexual advances towards Rodriguez that included alleged acts of sexual assault and battery at Perry's Los Angeles home. Rodriguez is seeking $77 million in damages.
In June, another actor, Derek Dixon, alleged that Perry used "his power and influence to molest, abuse, and sexually assault impressionable and vulnerable employees and actors who look to him for guidance and mentorship while pursuing their dreams."
Dixon is seeking $260 million in his lawsuit.
Perry's legal representatives have denied both accusations.
