Fashion designer Riccardo Tisci accused of sexually assaulting a man

Fashion designer Riccardo Tisci, who served as chief creative officer at Burberry from 2018 to 2022 and has dressed celebrities like Adele, Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Madonna, has been accused of drugging and sexually assaulting a man in New York in 2024.

According to a report from The Independent, a New York man is claiming that Tisci drugged his drink at an East Harlem restaurant, adding that he later woke up naked in Tisci's house and was unaware of how he got there.

The lawsuit alleges that Tisci approached the plaintiff, Patrick Cooper, at a restaurant in late June 2024, and "discreetly put a drug" into his drink. "Upon consuming the aforesaid drug-infused drink," Cooper reported he "became disoriented, confused, impaired, intoxicated, unaware of his actions and surroundings, and unable to comprehend what was going on."

The suit alleges that once the drug took effect, Tisci brought Cooper back to his home, where he "prevented Plaintiff from leaving and sexually assaulted him."

In a statement to The Independent, Cooper, who is bisexual, said that he "just went out to have a good night. My intentions were never to end up in Riccardo Tisci's bed. When I woke up, he was kissing me."

"I remember sipping the drink, and I don't remember anything else," he alleges. "To this day, I still don't remember anything. Nothing."

A spokesman for Tisci said, "These allegations are categorically untrue. Riccardo looks forward to clearing his name of these false and malicious accusations. He will obtain vindication through due process," per The Hollywood Reporter.

The lawsuit accuses Tisci of assault, battery, false imprisonment, infliction of emotional distress, and violation of New York's Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Law.

In addition to dressing many Hollywood celebrities, Tisci was the creative director of Givenchy for 12 years and designed the dress Kim Kardashian wore for her 2014 wedding to Kanye West.
