69 Year-Old Attempting to Use Trans Laws to Legally Identify Younger

"Transgenders can now have their gender changed on their birth certificate, and in the same spirit there should be room for an age change.”

A 69-year-old "positvity guru" from the Netherlands is suing the city of Arnhem to legally identify as 49. Emile Ratelband believes that if trans people can change their gender legally, he should be allowed to legally change his age because he feels like he's 20 years younger.

Ratelband said, "I have done a check-up and what does it show? My biological age is 45 years."

"When I'm 69, I am limited. If I'm 49, then I can buy a new house, drive a different car. I can take up more work."

The man with undiagnosed Peter Pan Syndrome continued, "When I'm on Tinder and it says I'm 69, I don't get an answer. When I'm 49, with the face I have, I will be in a luxurious position. Transgenders can now have their gender changed on their birth certificate, and in the same spirit there should be room for an age change."

The judge actually had some sympathy for Ratelband, after he complained that companies are hesitant to hire someone nearly 70, the age of a pensioner, as a consultant. Ratelband said he is willing to renounce his pension until he reaches retirement again.

The judge did, however, note that it would be problematic to allow people to change their birthday, "legally deleting part of their lives."

The court is set to deliver a ruling within four weeks.
