Hillary Clinton Leads Politicians and Celebrities In Voicing Support For Marriage Equality On Social Media

Hillary Clinton SCOTUS

Elijah Wood, Dustin Lance Black, and Nanci Pelosi were among some of those calling for equality as SCOTUS heard oral arguments

Today, the Supreme Court heard the oral arguments in Obergefell v. Hodges, the case that combined challenges to four same-sex marriage bans (Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky and Tennessee). Activists on both side of the issue believe that the decision, which is expected in late June, will decide once and for all the constitutionality of same-sex marriage in the United States.

As more than 1000 gathered outside the Supreme Court building to show their support (or opposition) to marriage equality, scores of politicians and celebrities took to Twitter to lend their backing to love. Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton led the charge with the most drastic of social media moves--altering her campaign image from red, white, and blue to the colors of the rainbow--but the outpouring of support from so many has been incredible.
