Watch Kacey Musgraves Perform Selena’s ‘Como La Flor’

In just two weeks, yeehaw queen Kacey Musgraves swept the Grammys, took home Album of the Year, and presented at the Oscars in a high-fantasy Giambattista Valli gown -- that's quite a fortnight for our favorite little gay-friendly country icon. But that wasn't enough for Musgraves, she needed to raise the level of excellence to a near-divine degree. How better to do that than covering literal angel, Selena Quintanilla?

During a stop on her Oh What a World Tour in Texas, Musgraves honored the Tejano legend with a spellbinding cover of classic Selena track "Como La Flor." Musgraves was performing at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo on Monday, an annual Texas event that Selena herself performed at in her iconic purple bell-bottom jumpsuit.

"I have always wanted to play RodeoHouston ever since I was a little girl," Musgraves told the crowd, which numbered 53,031. "We have a lot to celebrate."

Musgraves had teased the performance on the Oscars red carpet, telling ET: "I'm about to go to Texas and open the Houston Rodeo, and in my home state, that's a big deal. That was where Selena had her last concert. My whole family will be there, that's gonna be really fun."

The Tejano legend's sister, Suzette Quintanilla, thanked Musgraves on Instagram for her homage. "Awww this makes me wanna shed a tear! Takes me back," she wrote. "A Big Big Thank you @spaceykacey for the love at the Houston Rodeo tonite with that SELENA Y LOS DINOS Jam!"
