Folksy LGBT singer Woodpigeon is back with an album full of heartbreak.Â
After a two-year hiatus, Canadian musician Woodpigeon is releasing his sixth full-length album, T R O U B L E. In advance of the album's April 1st release, Woodpigeon released a colorful, super-cut video for his heartache-filled ballad, "Faithful".
Wood pigeon says T R O U B L E is the by-product of a messy heartbreak. For two years, he traversed the world, visiting France, New York, Turkey, Buenos Aires, and much more. Inspiration for the album struck him in Buenos Aires. As he recorded the album, he stuck to the words of his personal hero, sixties rock-n-roll singer Roy Obrison, and threw away the rules for what a pop song should sound like.
"I've already quit music, so I might not even make these songs into anything other than things I play for myself," he said. "So let's just see where they go on their own." "
The video is a visual experience, with cherry-red smoke clouding the screen as the camera drags--as slow and lethargic as heartbreak feels.
