Brittany HillĀ (a.k.a. Kerchief), has gone solo after seven years with her band Vanity Theft
We first swooned for Brittany Hill, Ohio-born, Tennessee-based, when she was in the all-female band Vanity Theft. Now she's solo, under the moniker Kerchief, and rocking out more than ever. As she explained of her album, titled Machines and Animals, it's personal:
"This debut solo album is a chance to connect with all those working so hard to make ends meet and make sense of life, and to remind them to cherish the momen. One day you'll look back and remember what it was like to want to work so hard for something you believed in, and you'll wish you were back there -- facing the unknown, but doing your best."
In the song "Jack London," we hear plenty of rock 'n' roll hooks (Joan Jett, are you listening?) that make for repeat listenings, and the video shows lust, desperation, and the anxiety of trying to survive -- not matter what your situation.
