A cause of death has been determined for gay adult performer Christian Styles.
When his passing was announced by his family last month, a cause of death for the 29-year-old GayVN winner had yet to be determined.
Styles, whose real name was Zachary Christian Jaghab, died on August 20 due to alcohol and mitragynine toxicity, according to the Wayne County Medical Examiner autopsy obtained by People.
A toxicology report found that he had a blood alcohol content of 0.168% and a blood mitragynine level of 87 ng/mL. Mitragynine is the active chemical compound in the popular drug kratom, and combined with alcohol, it “increases the risk for sudden death,” the medical examiner wrote.
TMZ previously reported that Canton Township Police Chief Joseph Bialy said officers were dispatched to the adult film star’s home after receiving a report of a "non-responsive adult male.” Bialy wouldn’t confirm who found the body, but said Styles’ family were the ones who contacted the police.
Styles was a successful gay adult star who had over 1 million followers on X, where he promoted his OnlyFans account, and was the 2023 GayVN fan-voted winner in the Favorite All-Male Creator Collab category alongside fellow performer Chris Damned.
His death was made public last month by his family in an obituary that also announced that he would be buried at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Michigan on August 25.
“Zachary Christian Jaghab, cherished son of Johnny and Ellen Jaghab; beloved brother of Tonya (Joseph) Faris and Jacob Jaghab; and adored uncle of Sid Faris, Vanessa Faris, and Paul Faris. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends,” the announcement read.
Styles was also remembered in a GoFundMe started by his family to pay for funeral expenses.
“This unimaginable loss has left a beautiful Canton family grieving the passing of someone deeply loved,” the tribute reads.
There was also an outpouring of love from friends on social media, including from actor Caleb Parker, who posted photos of the pair together on Instagram with the caption, “RIP Zach. You were such a sweet boy. I wish we could giggle together one last time.”
