Springboro, Ohio, probably isn't the first place you think of when you're envisioning the birthplace of a pop band, but after you hear Vanity Theft, it might be. The all-female foursome, which has garnered comparisons to everyone from Sleater-Kinney to The Ting Tings, just released their latest album, Get What You Came For. And while there might be a lot of estrogen packed into Vanity Theft, they want to get one thing straight: "We may have vaginas, but we're not pussies."
Elyse Driskill (above far right) and Brittany Hill (above second from right) recently dropped by the Out studio to chat about how the band formed, "girl power" (and why they may or may not be interested in it), and how a "nervous number two" factors into their pre-concert ritual:
