Ready Player One Thrills with First Full-Length Trailer

The full trailer for Ready Player One has arrived, and gaymers everywhere, get ready to free up your afternoon.
The complete first look at the Steven Spielberg adaption of Ernest Cline's novel is packed with Easter eggs (one quite literal) from video games, sci-fi, fantasy, and other pop culture favorites spanning the 1980s to the early 2000s.
It's a treat in itself to try and spot them all--from title character Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan) stepping into a Back to the Future DeLorean to the Iron Giant leaping at you from the screen.
The movie's themes will speak easily to queer audiences, who often see the virtual world as a safe haven from IRL cruelty and discrimination.
The casting of the movie may be a slight nod to LGBTQ viewers. Out100 Artist of the Year Lena Waithe will play Aech, Watts's best friend in the Oasis whose avatar is a white male--despite being a black queer woman in real life.
