Filmmakers Ben Cotner and Ryan White had no idea to what degree the words Prop. 8 would become historical shorthand for an unprecedented majority-inflicted reversal in civil rights, and their subsequent triumph in our highest court. Their film, The Case Against 8, has gone on to win awards since releasing in theaters this past summer.
Now, available on DVD, it contains many deleted scenes and more interviews, such as the one below. In this clip, he plaintiffs -- Kris Perry, Sandy Stier, Jeff Zarrillo, and Paul Katami -- and lawyers never actually expected that they'd have to take the stand for trial, but how great a decision it was for the case.
