Gooning on Out.com? More likely than you think!
Here at Out, we don’t just bring you the best pop culture news, we also want to make sure you’re kept knowledgeable on the latest trends in gay sex and relationships! With that in mind, this week, we shared a guide to gooning!
If you’ve been on social media or Reddit, or anywhere where young people talk about sex, you’ve probably seen the term “gooning,” but you may not have known what it meant. Now, you’ve got a whole guide on what it is, how to do it, and the good and the bad!
But Gooning isn’t the only thing we talked about on Out.com this week.
One of my favorite stories we featured was about The Old Gays, who shared black and white portraits of themselves as young people, and new ones taken by photographer Maxwell Poth on social media, showing us what queer joy looks like at different ages.
"It’s a beautiful thing to see and meet our queer elders. Not only to admire their age and beauty, but also to cherish the stories and the queer joy they hold within themselves," Poth told Out.
These stunning portraits of The Old Gays then & now show us the beauty of our queer elders

Woman Crush Wednesday
This week, we’re celebrating our crush on The Acolyte showrunner and lesbian filmmaker Leslye Headland! The first trailer for The AcolyteThe Acolyte released this week, and stars nonbinary actor Amandla Stenberg as a dark-side force user who challenges the Jedi establishment. We can’t wait to watch, especially because of Headland’s leadership!
This Week in Out History
This week, we have a really cool look into history with a photo-series that was originally published in the June 1993 issue of Out, and showed “A Day Out in LGBTQ America.” It just so happens that that day was March 19, 1993, 31 years ago this week.
The photos show queer life in New York City, San Francisco, Minneapolis, Lincoln, Nebraska, Austin, Texas, and more cities across the U.S.A..
Inspirational Quote
“This is my charge to everyone: We have to be better. We have to love more. Hate less. We got to listen more and talk less. It’s our responsibility to make the world a better place.”
Megan Rapinoe said this in a speech with the US Women’s World Cup team in 2019. With the NWSL season starting again, we thought some wise words from her were appropriate.
