This new show definitely sounds like a mix of Grey’s Anatomy and Élite.

Netflix loves Manu Ríos — and so do we!

Ríos decided to exit Élite following the series’ sixth season in 2022. However, it seems like the actor will be right back to our Netflix screens in the near future.

Élite creator Carlos Montero revealed in an interview with El Español that Ríos is attached to his upcoming hospital drama series on Netflix, titled Respira (which translates to “breathe” in English). This new show will focus on the sexy medical staff working at a hospital in Spain.

Judging by the synopsis of Respira, we’re surely expecting something similar to Grey’s Anatomy and ER… but with the sensibilities of Élite. “We want to recover the great hospital dramas but with a fiercely contemporary look that we will push to the limit,” Montero told the publication about this new show.

In a new Instagram post, Montero revealed that Respira should start filming right away. He also expressed how happy he is about the cast of actors attached to this project, which includes Blanca Suárez, Najwa Nimri, Alfonso Bassave, Aitana Sánchez-Gijón, Abril Zamora, and Xoán Fórneas, among others.

While we wait for Respira to drop, fans can watch Ríos in the Netflix limited series Muted alongside his former Élite costar Arón Piper. Ríos is also appearing in Pedro Almodóvar’s gay Western film starring Pedro Pascal and Ethan Hawke, Strange Way of Life.

Manu Ríos is staying booked and busy – love to see it!

Élite season seven premieres October 20 on Netflix.
