It's a new era for The Real Housewives of New York City!
A new crop of women and a familiar face are all joining the cast for the upcoming 16th season. One of the main storylines that's being teased in the trailer is newbie Hailey Glassman's lavender marriage.
"I sleep with women intimately as well," Glassman says. The bombshell admission reveals a sapphic secret love life that could mean she's bisexual, pansexual, polysexual, omnisexual or abrosexual. Regardless, she's definitely the latest queer star in the popular franchise.
Remember former creative director Jenna Lyons, RHONYās first out lesbian housewife, who debuted in the Season 14 reboot? She was followed by fashion model and art curator Racquel Chevremont the subsequent season and served as the show's first Black queer housewife. The first-ever out lesbian in the entire franchise was Julia Lemigova, the wife of tennis titan Martina Navratilova, who joined the cast of The Real Housewives of Miami in 2021.
Deadline described Glassman's contribution as the show's new source of "offbeat humor and unconventional personality."
"Hailey is an instant hit within the group, but she finds herself struggling to come to terms with her past and find her voice when her friends start questioning the pillars of her identity," according to Deadline's report.
If you aren't already familiar with her, Glassman first made headlines on the arm of Jon & Kate Plus 8 star Jon Gosselin in 2009. In the clip released by Bravo, she's happy to spill the tea on her lavender marriage to her mystery husband.
"When we get into fights, she goes on Craigslist to look for an apartment, and I go on Raya," Glassman tells Carole Radziwill in the trailer. Radziwill is officially reclaiming her apple after spending years off the show and living a more private life.
Glassman's lavender marriage isn't the only main storyline this season, as the trailer also includes hysterical screaming matches in top tier locales, Martha Stewart's pie-shaming cameo, a multi-million dollar flood, and accusations involving Jeffrey Epstein.
Besides Glassman and Radziwill, the ensemble cast includes Sai de Silva, Erin Lichy, Jessel Taank and two other newcomers, Erika Hammond and Daisy Toye.
Season 16 of The Real Housewives of New York City premieres Tuesday, September 8 on Bravo. Check out the trailer below!
