Dan Levy Meets Oscar the Grouch in New Sesame Street Clip

Who has the more iconic "ew?"

Dan Levy is going from Schitt’s Creek to Sesame Street!

A new clip has been released from Schitt’s Creek star and co-creator Dan Levy joining the ever-popular and iconic kid’s show Sesame Street, and it is so adorable it has us saying “aw.”

Entertainment Weekly has the exclusive clip, which shows Levy bringing back the iconic “ew” catchphrase from Schitt’s Creek in an “ew-off” against classic complainer Oscar the Grouch.

Unfortunately, the clip is only up on EW's website right now, so make sure you click through that link!

At first, Levy has a gift of an ice cream cone for Oscar, who replies “ew.” Then, Oscar offers Levy a slime cone, to which Levy says “ew.” This goes back and forth for a bit before Levy brings out Oscar’s worm friend Smiley, to which no one can say “ew.” Instead, they both switch to “aw.”

Both Levy’s character David, and his sister Alexis (Annie Murphy) repeatedly used “ew” as a simple, but effective catchphrase throughout their time on Schitt’s Creek to judge everything from fashion, to fruit wine, to small-town lack of amenities.

It’s become such a popular phrase that people will shout it at Levy on the street.

"It's resulted in a sort of tagline that I think will haunt me for the rest of my life," Levy told Jimmy Kimmel on Jimmy Kimmel Live in 2021. "'Ew' is not necessarily something you want screamed at you in your most vulnerable time."

However, having the legend Oscar Thee Grouch say “ew” to him must have been a special moment for Levy.

Sesame Street streams on HBO Max and airs on PBS, with new episodes on Thursdays.
