After refusing to reprise her Sex and the City role as Samantha Jones for a third movie in the franchise, and then declaring that she wouldn’t be back for the Max reboot series And Just Like That either, Kim Cattrall has apparently changed her mind. Well, at least slightly.
On Wednesday, May 31, Variety exclusively reported that Cattrall has agreed to shoot a scene for the second season of And Just Like That which didn’t involve seeing or speaking with her costar Sarah Jessica Parker or showrunner Michael Patrick King.
The report also included details about this particular scene featuring Cattrall:
“In the scene, Samantha, who in the show has moved to London, will have a phone conversation with Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw. In the first season of And Just Like That, Carrie engaged with an estranged Samantha over text, and in the finale, the two made a plan to see each other in order to reconcile.”
On Thursday, June 1, Cattrall confirmed the Variety report with an Instagram post that wished all of us “Happy Pride.” Queen status!
