JORDY has traveled the long distance to get to where he is today.

The pop boy is entering his most personal era yet with the release of his second album BOY.

Leading up to the new record, JORDY has already made waves on TikTok with countless viral videos to his song "Story of a Boy." The single takes a queer approach to the classic love song “Absolutely (Story of a Girl)” by Nine Days. However, once the song hit TikTok, the transgender community used snippets to show their journeys transitioning.

"Honestly, it has truly been such a crazy experience. When I first published that sound on TikTok, the point was comparing the original song to my version. All of the sudden, I woke up one morning and there was a couple of trans creators that were using the sound to portray their transition. I didn't expect people to interpret the sound in this way," JORDY tells Out.

The out and proud singer is grateful that his song could bring some positivity to the trans community, as hundreds of anti-LGBTQ laws are introduced across the country.

"The trans community is the community that needs the most protecting. I always want to use my platform for the greater good and to see the community using my song in this way is completely humbling. I am inspired after watching every single video that I watch every single day. I will never know what it's like to undergo the struggles of the trans community. All I can do is create awareness [and] create visibility. I will be the loudest person in the room if that means these trans stories can be heard."

Not only will members of the LGBTQ+ community feel seen by listening to JORDY's new album, but he's hoping everyone can find a piece of relatability in one of the new songs. Plus, the inspiration behind the record comes from JORDY's own journey finally accepting his sexuality at a young age.

"On this record we talk about heartbreak, social anxiety, going through a bit of a dry spell, being an adult and feeling like you don't know anything! It all seems like these concepts that anyone can relate to, but when I was really digging into the feelings behind the lyrics, a lot of what was coming out was my inner child and my younger experiences as a closeted queer guy. This album is for my younger self. This is the album I needed as a teen."

Being authentic is the highest priority when it comes to JORDY's musicality and songwriting. With very little queer representation in music as a child, the star wants to help all generations hear the music they've always wanted and needed.

"I wanted to hear queer artists. I wanted to hear boys singing about boys and I never really got the chance to hear that as a kid. I was able to relate to straight people music when I was a kid. We all had to. We had no choice. I'm going to make music that's honest to me. I obviously make music for our community. At the end of the day, those are the people who I care the most about, but at the same time, I do want to make music for everyone. I do want to make music that's a real experience and I don't want to hide anything. Anyone can listen to it and relate."
