Jonathan Bailey hard launches his new love ahead of Wicked: For Good
'Wicked: For Good' star Jonathan Bailey is partaking in a bit of promotional fun ahead of the film's release on November 21.
The English actor, who stars as Fiyero in the Wicked films, made a delicious reveal on Friday.
Jonathan Bailey has some big news to share!
The dashing English actor appeared in an Instagram reel on Friday to promote the upcoming sequel of Wicked, when he did a surprise hard launch. In the video, the Wicked: For Good star gestures to someone off-screen, encouraging them to come stand next to him. And it turns out his new love is even more delicious than expected.
"Hard Launch... The Wicked: For Good popcorn bucket," the video text reads, as Bailey is passed the emerald-green snacking vessel.
The Emerald City popcorn bucket craddled in Bailey's hands will be available at AMC Theatres and Cinemark. Cinemark plans to sell the bucket, which comes with an XL popcorn, for $47.95, according to Attractions Magazine.
Fans are loving the promotion, posing questions in the comments like, "Will Jonathan feed the popcorn to us, too?" and "Is Jonathan included in the package?"
"How dare you leverage Jonathan Bailey to sell this to us," one user, @enchantinglyerin_, joked.
"THIS MAN. He's so smooth he can flirt with a popcorn bucket and it's attractive," noted @jaclyn.christina.
Popcorn buckets have become a major marketing tool for movie theaters in recent years. In 2024, the Dune: Part Two popcorn bucket went viral for looking like a sex toy. Later that year, Deadpool & Wolverine revealed its popcorn bucket with a homoerotic tease.
Bailey, who plays Fiyero in the Wicked films, has said that his character will be going through a lot of changes in the highly anticipated sequel. "You meet him very quietly spinning out of control, really, in a state of quiet rebellion," he told Empire.
"[Fiyero's] passively going along with an establishment that he doesn't believe in, and he's using his position as head of the guard to find Elphaba, seemingly to protect Oz," he said. "But as we know, I think, from the first film, he really wants to be close to her."
Wicked: For Good also stars Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, and Jeff Goldblum. It will be released in theaters on November 21.
