The heavyweight champion made a big statement during his comeback to wrestling.

Punching back against bigotry.

One of the most popular and notorious wrestlers of all time, CM Punk, made his huge comeback over the weekend and used the moment to send a very special message.

On September 8, 2022, it was announced that Punk had torn a muscle in his arm, which left his wrestling career in shambles. Overall, fans were really uncertain if Punk would be able to come back following that surgery.

Wrestling fans were very happy to see that Punk was able to come back for a fight taking place on Saturday, June 17, 2023. Knowing full well that this was a huge moment for the wrestling world, Punk used the opportunity to show his allyship – holding up a sign that read, “Support LGBTQ+ Youth.”

This was a very exciting and pleasing gesture from one of the most popular wrestlers in the world, who chose to use his platform to advocate for LGBTQ+ rights on a special night.

Over the years, Punk has competed in leagues like World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). As of 2023, he is signed to All Elite Wrestling (AWE), but many fans assumed that his latest torn muscle could mean the end of 44-year-old Punk’s career.

It was thrilling to see Punk back in the ring, and even more so to see an ally standing up for the LGBTQ+ community at a time when we feel constantly under attack.
