What's your favorite scary movie set in New York City?

"In a city of millions, no one hears you scream." That's the tagline for the all-new installment in the classic horror franchise, Scream.

Out actress Jasmin Savoy Brown is back with Wednesday star Jenna Ortega in the new first teaser trailer for Paramount's upcoming thriller Scream 6.

The trailer follows the group of survivors and friends as they celebrate Halloween in New York City. Surrounded by people in costumes on the subway, the group sees werewolves, zombies, and ghouls all around them, as well as a few revelers in Ghostface costumes.

Effectively using the ding of a subway door as a horror theme, the commercial shows Jasmin Savoy Brown's queer character Mindy looking terrified as one of the Ghostfaces on the subway comes up to her. Is this the real killer, or just a Halloween prankster taking things too far?

According to the synopsis, "following the latest Ghostface killings, the four survivors leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter." Those four survivors from the last movie include sisters Sam and Tara Carpenter (Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega) and siblings Chad Meeks-Martin (Mason Gooding) and our favorite Scream lesbian, Mindy Meeks-Martin (Jasmin Savoy Brown).

The movie also sees the return of Courtney Cox's Gale Weathers, and Scream 4's Kirby Reed (Hayden Panettiere). New cast members include The Grand Budapest Hotel's Tony Revolori, The Other Two's Josh Segarra, and Ready or Not's Samara Weaving. Jack Champion, Henry Czerny, Liana Liberato, Devyn Nekoda, and Dermot Mulroney also star.

Brown played the series' first queer main character in last year's Scream 5, which revitalized the series. The original Scream movies were written by gay writer Kevin Williamson, who is serving as an executive producer on this film. Scream 6 is directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett and written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick.

Scream 6 premieres only in theaters on March 10, 2023.
