Spoilers Abound: 12 Photos of Lady Gaga on the ‘House of Gucci’ Set
Is another Oscar in Lady Gaga's future?
Lady Gaga has been busy in Italy recently, filming the upcoming Ridley Scott movie House of Gucci, with her co-star Adam Driver. In the film she plays Patrizia Reggiani, the ex-wife of Maurizio Gucci who was convicted of his assassination in 1995.
Reggiani married Maurizio, the grandson of Gucci founder Guccio Gucci, in 1973 and two instantly became one of Italy's most famous couples. After two decades of marriage, Gucci left her for another woman and they were divorced in 1994. One year later he was shot multiple times by a hitman and killed.
Reggiani was swept up in a highly publicized trial and ended up being convicted of his murder in 1998. In prison she earned the nickname Black Widow, and was released after 18 years.
Scott is the award-winning director of movies like Gladiator, Alien, and Blade Runner. The script is by Robert Bentivegna, based on Sara Gay Forden's book The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour and Greed.
The movie also stars Al Pacino, Jared Leto, and Jeremy Irons. It's expected to hit theaters November 24, 2021.
This will be Gaga's second starring movie role after 2019's A Star is Born, for which she was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress and won one for Best Song. This movie is expected to also be an award-season favorite. She has also appeared in American Horror Story and small roles in movies like Machete Kills and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.
With the names as big as they are, papparazzi has been on set, shooting the filming of House of Gucci. If you don't want any spoilers, exit now, but if you don't mind a little preview, here's some of our favorite shots.
