Looks like Gus Kenworthy is getting into the high fashion gig now.
This week the Olympian skier (and part time actor) released his latest campaign as a model, now with Prada. The campaign comprises his first foray into the high fashion industry.
"Honored to be one of the faces of the Prada Linea Rossa FW20 campaign," he wrote to Instagram announcing the news. In another post, he compared himself to The Devil Wears Prada icon Miranda Priestly.
The shoot sees Kenworthy and his icy blue eyes cozied up in Prada fleece and winterwear, looking like he's ready to win another Olympic medal -- you may remember his first silver medal in Men's slopestyle skiing at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics. Photographer Vanina Sorrenti shot the images with creative direction from Ferdinando Verderi.
Prada's website describes the new line as "a metropolitan wardrobe of dynamic clothing" and "an urban uniform inspired by sports and survival, geared towards movement, lightness and ease, and dominated by a black and Linea Rossa red colour palette for immediate visual identification."
Other faces of Prada's Linea Rossa campaign include Chaneyol Park and Jin Chen of popular K-pop group Exo, and Black-ish and Grown-ish star Yara Shahidi.
Kenworthy has posed as model before, working with brands like Polo Ralph Lauren and Moncler Beyond. He's also played actor, entering the Ryan Murphy universe by way of American Horror Story. But don't think that means he has forgotten his athletic roots: In December he announced that he was leaving America's Team USA skiing team to join Team GB Snowsport. He hopes to debut for Britain at the 2022 Winter Olympic Games if he qualifies.
