There's one NYC-based band on the tip of everyone's lips right now: AGENT. The minamilist line first gained traction with its debut line of sneakers, but is now gearing up to debut a line of ready-to-wear for the pre-spring 2019 season, available this October. To fill us on in on the inspiration behind the line and upcoming collection, we tapped designers Terrence William and Joshua Fronda to spill on the details.

"AGENT is about change, what is yet to come. The future doesn't simply happen, it must be created and that's already who we were as individuals, so the name stuck.

Coming from diverse upbringings and having spent extended periods of time in several cities around the world (Singapore, London, Tokyo, LA, Hanoi, Milan, Melbourne, Sydney) AGENT was always intended to appeal to the global audience. We are based in NYC which has a dynamic utilitarian approach to fashion but also maintains a strong undercurrent of classical elements which we have sculpted in each of our designs. For that reason, New York was the ideal platform for us to create a home.

The future is inevitable and there is something daring and exciting to envision how our thoughts and work can lead us there. AGENT can at times adopt a futurist approach to fashion but again, it's all about that balance and respect of what is now and what has come before us. We are very much inspired by classic minimalist design but our aesthetic tends to morph the concept into a brazen stepchild version of its former self. It pushes the narrative of constant evolution and the balance of new vs old and known vs. unfamiliar. AGENT was never intended for a male audience despite it being received that way. In fact, there was no definition in gender ever. We felt being as inclusive as possible was more true to our vision. We may at times decide to swerve into more feminine silhouettes but it will always be designed for everyone.

All that being said, quality at the end of the day is paramount to any brand but, especially AGENT. We have been lucky enough to collaborate with several of the best manufactures in the industry today. Everything now is produced in Italy, from suiting to footwear. We believe, beyond anything, product needs to be made with precision. That begins with the design but extends to the construction selection of materials and care taken by the factory to ensure the product will last a lifetime and beyond."
