OUT Editorial: Leather Bound
Is there anything in fashion more foolproof than leather? It's had us covered for centuries, first to protect our bodies from the elements, then later to show a total disregard for anything boring, oppressive, or conventional. Lou Reed wore it, George Michael wore it, daddies at the Eagle wear it, Eddie Redmayne rocks it all the time. It's durable, versatile, and, best of all, one of the few materials that looks better with age. This season, designers are celebrating leather in all its guises. Versace is doing pants, Calvin Klein 205W39NYC has dreamed up entire head-to-toe ensembles, and Loewe has magically made a butcher-style apron look impossibly chic. That's the power of leather: Throw it on, and no one will dare question you.
