Denim Dreams: Simon Miller Pulls Inspiration From 'The Outsiders'
Drawing inspiration from pop culture classics has long been a way designers use the past to influence contemporary style. With Simon Miller's spring '18 collection, creative directors Daniel Corrigan and Chelsea Hansford wanted to infuse a little bit of denim-decked bad boy back into the mainstream. Vintage jeans and denim jackets serve as centerpieces for The Outsiders-inspired collection, seasonally colored with whites and greens. Founded on the principles of Japanese fabrication and modern American craftsmanship, it's fitting that the collection is produced in the Okayama prefecture in the Chugoku region of Japan, known for its rich cottons and indigo dying.
