Connan Mockasin in 'Monumental' by Karen Walker
Karen Walker launched today her new eyewear collection, called "Monumental," complete with a minimal campaign starring New Zealand singer Connan Mockasin. The designer's range of six menswear shades are structural, much like their name alludes, and aim to revisit what it means to be masculine today. She cites the duality of "good and evil" as core inspiration, bringing subversive edits to classic silhouettes.
"It was exciting this time to shift the focus entirely to men," Walker said. "It just felt like the right time to reassess the concept of modern masculinity. When we talk about what it is to be a man now, it's such a fluid concept. And yet, there's also this wonderful permanence. We wanted to capture that. To be subversive and classic at the same time."
