As the saying goes: any app can be a dating app when you're honest about who you are. Ok maybe that's not a saying but its true, and it worked out in the case of Representative Malcolm Kenyatta and Dr. Matthew Jordan Miller who got engaged this month after meeting on Instagram in 2016. Four years ago, the pair did the now-customary "one person likes a few photos, and then the other person likes a few in return to show mutual interest," and last week the Philadelphia State Representative from the 181st District popped the question in a moment that's since gone viral. Finlay Wilson has made a name for himself online and around the world as the Kilted Yogi. After he built a sizeable audience for himself showing his daily practice online, the yoga instructor and author got a gig filming content for BBC's The Social platform. The reason: 29 vendors donated their services for the nuptials when the couple made national headlines after being turned away from a Dallas venue by homophobic owners. Keep Reading →
"It wasn't the day we pictured, but it was still picture perfect," Mike Del Moro says of his May 16 socially distanced wedding to Alec Vlahos. Del Moro, a booking producer on MSNBC's Morning Joe, originally planned to marry Vlahos, an OB/GYN resident at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School/Saint Barnabas, at a big, beach blowout wedding in Point Pleasant. Their wedding was going to have the works: a DJ, photo booth, and 250 guests. Instead, the day saw them say "I Do" in front of Del Moro's parents, sister, and brother-in-law, as well as Vlahos' parents and sister, all six feet apart. Keep Reading →
