Michael Sam Joins Dallas Cowboys' Practice Squad
Though he didn't make it through the St. Louis Rams' second round of cuts and was passed over by every team in the National Football League, Michael Sam's NFL career isn't over. The defensive lineman and first openly gay player to be drafted by the NFL is joining the Dallas Cowboys' 10-man practice squad.
The defensive end will be quite the asset to the squad, especially considering that the Cowboys' historically abysmal defense. The Dallas team gave up 6,645 yards last year, the most in their history and the third most in NFL history.
The Galveston, Texas native may potentially be called up to the Cowboys' active roster but that ultimately depends on injuries and other factors.
His new team will face off against his former on Sunday, Sept. 21.
