That Time John Roberts Was On House of Style

So grunge

Long before he was the voice of Linda Belcher on FOX's animated series, Bob's Burgers, John Roberts was just a lowly comedian trying to earn his keep in the TV industry. As it turns out -- in addition to auditioning for a boy band -- one of his earliest jobs was working for designer Todd Oldham on MTV's House of Style. (A fun fact the actor recently revealed on Twitter.)

The long-running fashion showcase, which ran from 1989 to 2000, regularly featured a segment simply dubbed "Todd Time" with tips, how-tos, and gift guides. In one such segment, Oldham offered fashion tips for lazy guys and as luck would have it, Roberts was the guy to model Oldham's grunge-inspired outfit.

With the show off the air, the designer has focused his attention elsewhere. Oldham recently talked to Out about leaving fashion citing that he "didn't have anything else to say." No doubt due to all Todd Time segments, which you can watch now on MTV.com.

Check out more of his conversation as the magazine finds out what he's up to now. As for Roberts, well, we know where he ended up.
