Showing tonight at Seattle's Lesbian and Gay Film Festival and tomorrow night at Albuquerque's Southwest Gay and Lesbian FIlm Festival, Happy End is a German-made film from The Mermaids director Petra Clever that tells the story of promising law student Lucca as she meets the free-wheeling Valerie. Together, the two travel across the country as they deliver the ashes of their recently deceased friend Herma to her requested resting place, despite her family's opposition. Inspired by Valerie's confidence and individuality, Lucca starts to rethink the future her conservative father has planned for her.
Currently in the festival circuit, the film is set to air on streaming service Wolfe Video starting in January. Check out the trailer below:
