ICYMI: Lizzy Caplan Got Wasted Before True Blood Sex Scene

Lizzy Caplan got plastered before her True Blood sex scene. Though Ms. Caplan takes it all off for Showtime's Masters of Sex like it's whatever, she apparently needed some liquid courage to strip down for HBO's True Blood. Caplan was on Chelsea Latelythis past Tuesday and told the Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea author that she'd hit the bottle to prep for a sex scene during her recurring guest-spot in 2008.

"I was hammered for that," she told Chelsea "Lately" Handler. "I didn't really have lines the first time. It was like 7 a.m. in the morning, and I was chugging vodka completely naked while a makeup artist I had just met was on her knees in front of me sponging my ass. It's intimate." We got you girl, sometimes vodka needs to be a morning beverage and there's nothing wrong with that.

Caplan had a six-episode run as Amy Burley, a love interest of Jason Stackhouse--played by the gorgeous Ryan Kwanten. If memory serves, the pair had quite a few nude scenes. "On True Blood, I've never told anybody this, but I was so nervous and then I was so drunk that after I shot the scene I was going up to the crew members--I had just met all these people the day before--and I was going up to all of them like, 'You got a boner! You do! You've got one!' It was horrible, horrible!"
