Teaming up with publishing company PaddyPower on the "Right Behind Gay Footballers" campaign, British LGBT advocacy group Stonewall encouraged professional football players in the U.K. and Scotland to take a stand against homophobia in the sport by wearing rainbow laces in their cleats on the field this past weekend.
Leave it to Out's August coverman Robbie Rogers, who made history when he became the first openly gay man to play in U.S. pro sports, to make it a thing in American soccer.
"Got my laces," he wrote on Instagram. "@stonewalluk #RGBT @lagalaxy need more for my team!"
Hey, even if the pro-gay footwear trend doesn't catch on, it's always good to see Robbie in the locker room.
